KNOCKALLA CARAVANS SENIOR CUP

IN THE 1993/94 season, the Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup game into being. The competition was brought in thanks largely to the generous sponsorship from Colm Doherty of Knockalla Caravans.

The first season saw 16 teams - from the Ulster Senior League, the Donegal League and the Inishowen League – take part. Buncrana Hearts were the first winners overcoming Letterkenny Rovers on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Kildrum Tigers became the first team from the Junior ranks to win the Cup, defeating Fanad United in 1998. Fanad were unbeaten that season until the James Coll-managed Tigers won a dramatic penalty shoot-out following a titantic 4-4 draw.

Kildrum are the only club to have won the Knockalla Cup as both a junior and intermediate side. In 2007, Kildrum overcame Redcastle on penalties.

USL clubs have dominated these finals since the inception of the Cup, run by the Ulster Football Association.

Cockhill Celtic are the holders and are pictured following their 3-0 win over Glengad in the 2016 final.
